Walk & Talk Therapy offers the opportunity to meet outdoors while we move at a comfortable pace rather than sitting in an office. Many people find it easier to open up side-by-side, and gentle movement can naturally support emotional regulation, focus, and reflection.

Sessions take place in agreed-upon public outdoor spaces in Oshawa and follow the same structure and confidentiality standards as in-office therapy, while also allowing the calming benefits of fresh air and nature.

Walk & Talk Therapy can be helpful if you:

  • Feel restless or stuck in traditional office settings

  • Think more clearly while moving

  • Experience anxiety that improves outdoors

  • Want a less formal environment for conversation

  • Are integrating skills-based therapies into everyday life

This format can be used for supportive therapy, skills practice, or ongoing treatment when clinically appropriate. Safety, privacy, and weather considerations are always reviewed in advance to ensure the setting fits your needs.

Outdoor Session Considerations

Walk & Talk Therapy takes place in public outdoor settings, which means absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed in the same way as an office environment. We will choose quieter routes and you may decide how to respond if we encounter others. You are always free to switch topics, pause, or request an indoor or virtual session at any time.

Participation also involves normal outdoor variables such as weather, uneven terrain, and physical activity. By choosing this format, you acknowledge responsibility for your own comfort and mobility needs. Sessions may be rescheduled or moved indoors if safety concerns arise.

Your wellbeing, privacy, and clinical appropriateness will always guide whether this format is recommended.
