Therapeutic Approaches
There’s no one-size-fits-all in therapy. I draw from these therapies to meet you where you are and support you in the way that feels most helpful.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
DBT focuses on building practical skills for managing emotions, improving relationships, and staying grounded in the present. DBT is the most well researched therapy used to treat Borderline Personality Disorder and to support people who engage in risky, life threatening behaviour like self-harm. However, DBT is a versatile therapy that can be used to help solve almost any problem you bring to the table. I have used DBT to help my clients recover from depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD and Addictions. I use DBT tools in both individual and group sessions to help clients create meaningful, everyday change.
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
CPT is a structured trauma-focused approach that helps make sense of painful experiences and shift unhelpful thought patterns. It’s about finding understanding and relief from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). CPT invites you to face your trauma head on and understand and reshape your trauma story. CPT is typically a 12-session treatment, delivered once per week over about 3 months; however, this timeline can be modified to fit your unique needs and preferences.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT looks at how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. It’s a straightforward, problem-solving approach that helps identify unhelpful patterns and replace them with more balanced, helpful ways of thinking and responding. This approach combines talk therapy with at home practice assignments to help you feel less anxious or depressed
Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT)
SFT is a future-oriented approach that builds on your strengths and focuses on what’s working. We look at your goals, highlight what’s already helping, and find practical next steps — even when things feel stuck. If you have a problem that is weighing you down, this therapy can be used to help you find relief in as little as 6 sessions.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) Informed Therapy
IFS is a gentle, insight-based approach that helps you get to know the different “parts” of yourself — the ones that protect, the ones that carry pain, and the ones that want change. The goal isn’t to get rid of parts, but to help them work together with more understanding and compassion. Through my introductory clinical training in this model, I can integrate IFS tools to support you in developing a kinder, more connected relationship with yourself.
Mindfulness-Based Practices
Mindfulness runs through all my work — learning to pause, breathe, and tune into what’s happening right now without judgment. It’s a simple but powerful way to reduce stress and reconnect with yourself. Mindfulness can be integrated into every part of your life, from learning how to notice and sit with panful or overwhelming emotions to bending down to tie your shoelace.
Trauma Informed & Client Centred Practice
At the heart of my work is a trauma-informed, client-centered approach that’s rooted in respect, curiosity, and care. I strive to create a space where you can show up fully as yourself—where all identities, genders, and experiences are honored and valued. Therapy moves at your pace, your comfort matters, and you always have a voice in where we go next.
